Prof. Lynn Schler

Lynn Schler is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics and Government and the Head of the Inter-University Program in African Studies. Lynn’s research examines the intersections between African societies and cultures and western colonial and postcolonial interventions in Africa.
Research interests: Social and cultural history of Africa, colonialism and postcolonialism, nationalism in Africa, development, urban history

Shahar Fuhrer received a BA in Literature, Linguistics and History from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She was part of the center as an MA student in the Department of History. Shahar oversees the staff, programming – events, conferences, study tours, and overall operations of the Africa Centre.

Shahar received a BA in African Studies and History from BGU. Currently, Shahar is an MEM student in emergency medicine, preparedness and response to emergencies and disasters. is the teaching assistant in the Africa and Activism course, and the coordinator of the volunteer delegation. She also helps in organizing events and conferences the center holds.

Uri is a 3rd year BA student. He majors in the Inter-University Program for African Studies and in Politics and Government. At the Tamar Golan Africa Centre, Uri is in charge of the Afro-Cinema screening series, the Forum for Advanced Degrees and for organizing and coordinating the different events the center holds.

Ella is a 3rd year BA student. She majors in the Inter-University Program for African Studies and in Politics and Government. Ella is the editor of the weekly news bulletin ‘This week in Africa.’ She is responsible for the center’s monthly newsletter and she also helps organizing and coordinating the different events the center holds.
