Prof. Lynn Schler

Lynn Schler is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics and Government and the Head of the Inter-University Program in African Studies. Lynn’s research examines the intersections between African societies and cultures and western colonial and postcolonial interventions in Africa.
Research interests: Social and cultural history of Africa, colonialism and postcolonialism, nationalism in Africa, development, urban history

Shahar Fuhrer received a BA in Literature, Linguistics and History from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She was part of the center as an MA student in the Department of History. Shahar oversees the staff, programming – events, conferences, study tours, and overall operations of the Africa Centre.

Noga Miller

Noga Miller

Budget and HR operations

Noga received a BA in Biology from BGU. She is the coordinator for the Inter-university
African Studies program for all three universities. Her responsibilities in the Centre include
HR and budget operations.

Shahar Livne

Shahar Livne

Project Coordinator

Shahar received a BA in African Studies and History from BGU. Currently, Shahar is an MEM student in emergency medicine, preparedness and response to emergencies and disasters. is the teaching assistant in the Africa and Activism course, and the coordinator of the volunteer delegation. She also helps in organizing events and conferences the center holds.

Yevgeny received a BA in History and Art and an MA in History from BGU. Currently, Yevgeny is a PhD candidate in the Department of History. His research focuses on the sleeping sickness in Ghana. Yevgeny is the editor of the weekly news bulletin ‘This week in Africa,’ and he is responsible for the center’s monthly newsletter, where we publish our conferences the center holds.

Stav is a 3rd year BA student. She majors in the Inter-University Program for African Studies and in Politics and Government. This year Stav will run the Centre and the study program’s websites, and all social media accounts. She will also help to organize and coordinate the different events and conferences the center holds.

Noa is a 3rd year BA student. She majors in the Inter-University Program for African Studies and Middle Eastern studies. At the Tamar Golan Africa Centre, Noa is in charge of the ‘AfroCinema’ screening series and she helps to organize and coordinate the different events and conferences the center holds
